Grammy-nominated rapper DaBaby was arrested Thursday in Miami. According to Miami Police spokeswoman Kenia Fallat, the musician was initially taken to Miami police headquarters to be questioned in connection with a theft investigation. DaBaby, whose real name is Jonathan Kirk, was later arrested for assault. The 28-year-old rapper was arrested outside the Novotel hotel in Brickell.
In an update provided by TMZ , it was noted that DaBaby and his team were angry after meeting a concert promoter. The man allegedly handed Baby $ 20,000, but the rapper claims he demanded $ 30,000 to perform a show that night. When things got out of hand, Baby and his team stole the promoter for $ 80, a credit card and his iPhone 7 before pouring apple juice on him. A second unidentified victim apparently also got punched in the face.
DaBaby was arrested for assault last night. He is being held without bail after being detained twice in less than two weeks. Despite his tremendous journey to the top of the rap game, legal difficulties continue to plague the artist, posing as obstacles some speculating that he is being unfairly targeted.
